Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz with R&B for a distinctive blend. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and at festivals in Europe. She has also performed at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing the piano and singing at church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the Atlanta's R&B scene. Sunshine received national attention for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to sing as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
